This is a friendly place, but every place, no matter how friendly, needs its rules, or shall we say guidelines, to make sure things run smoothly. (And, of course, so the mods can point people who misbehave towards this in explanation for why their post got edited/deleted/etc.)
The following are general guidelines, they're in effect for the whole board. Some forums may have additional, more specific guideless, however. Please make sure you read those as well. Thank you.
» Treat each other with respect, especially the moderators. You'd think this was a no-brainer, but sadly it is not. If you have a problem with someone else on this board, do not deal with it publically, take it to PM or email. If another member attacks you on this board, don't react in kind, contact a moderator. They will take care of it.
» Be as specific as possible when you title a topic. If you find you can't summarize what you want to write about in a few words, use the 'topic description' field to add a few more. We can't stress this enough. The mods are not there to adjust every other topic title just because the poster didn't care enough to pause and think before hitting 'post new topic'.
» Make sure you post your topic in the forum it belongs. If you're unsure, ask one of the mods where it does belong. General rule, do not start a topic with 'I'm not sure if this is the right place, but...'
» Signatures are allowed as long as they are not to big and make sure that if the banner is from amother site that u credit the site or put a link so others can go to it.
» You may upload a personal avatar. Avatars can be 100x100 pixels and 50kb, max. Do not use avatars that do not belong to you. If you haven't made it yourself, make sure you have permission to use from the person who did make it.
» The board is configured so you can upload pictures you wish to include in a post (and avoid hotlinking). Do not abuse this. Pictures you upload shouldn't be overly large, both in image and file size!
» Members can create polls, but we ask you not to overdo it, otherwise this will have to change. Fun polls are fun, but not if it's fun poll number 24 in as many hours.
» No rude, crude, sexist, racist, offensive, homophobic or otherwise inappropriate posts, avatars, or signatures. Again, no-brainer, but...
» This point most affects the John and Teyla section and also the other boards that follow, we imagine. This board is slash friendly (What is slash?) as much as it's 'het friendly' (for lack of better term). Members who post slash content must label their topics clearly (eg. put a 'contains slash' warning into the topic description field) so that they can be ignored by those who wish to do so.
» Do not spam. It will get deleted without notice and the IP it originates from will be banned. (We're assuming no one who cares enough to read this is going to be someone who would spam us, but better to includes this, just to make sure.)
» Use full words and sentences. No 'thx m8' or 'u r cool'.U can also write short as long as its understandable.
» First warning, second warning, banned. In severe cases one of the first two, or both, may be skipped. Rest assured, if someone does get banned they deserve it, so please don't worry about this too much. Follow the guidelines and all of us can have a jolly good time.
» By posting on this board you agree to follow the above guidelines.
